I was on Youtube today and saw this. This video is super awesome. I would watch this show. The River Song Adventures. Hmmmmm. I wish this was real. River Song is my ultimate fave character lol.

OMG. I just watched the new new series trailer. Total Awesomeness. But who is River? Looks like we find out soon. It has been posted on Planet Gallifrey here as well. It's a must see. I'll talk about the actual content at a later date.

The Impossible Astronaut/Spoiler Rules

Hi Everyone!

The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon are coming in Easter. A prequel video for The Impossible Astronaut has been released on Doctor Who. A Series 6 trailer has also been released. I haven't watched either yet, but they should be VERY intriguing.

I don't mind people commenting spoilers on this blog, but nothing too spoilery, I don't want anyone to ruin the new series for anyone else. New character names are fine, but NOT if they're linked to an episiode or a location. Don't link anything together too obviously. Actually, try not to link anything. The fun comes from puzzling out how it's all connected for yourself. And I want my blog to be fun. Credible clues only, nothing impossible, only post it if it comes from more than one source. Those are my rules. Plese respect them.

Polls

Hi Everyone!

You will have noticed I put polls on my sidebar. I would like everyone who comes here to vote for their fave Doctor and companion. The Doctor and companion who win the most votes will get a post on them. Except River, because I kind of did her already. But hers was done differently to how I am going to do the other ones. If anyone has ideas on how to improve this blog, or a character's post, please comment somewhere. I really want people's ideas.

River Song (edited 27.3.11)

River Song. An archaeologist from the future, a Doctor by credentials and later a Professor. But what do we really know about River? Everything we see is SPOILERS because, as we go on, the things we have seen haven't happened in the right order. I'm going to quote the DW website here, because they say it so well. the quote is from http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/characters/River_Song 

Here it is: 

        River Song is an archaeologist from the future who the Doctor keeps meeting in the wrong order.

He first met her on the planet of The Library, but we haven't yet seen where she first met him. So her journal is packed with information the Doctor feels he shouldn't know about yet. They're going to be very close: River knows the Doctor's real name and she even has a sonic screwdriver of her own that she claims he gave to her. She even knows how to fly the TARDIS. The tragedy is, the Doctor knows how River dies, so when the two of them meet at the crash of the Byzantium, share that picnic at Asgard and whatever they did together at the Singing Towers, he'll have a terrible secret that he won't be able to tell her.
River has a knack for getting into trouble and knows the Doctor can help her get out of it. But as for just how much they meant to each other: spoilers!

 That sums the whole wibbly wobbly timeline relativity distortion up, and hopefully makes it clearer for you. So, so far, we have seen River:
Talking to Winston Churchill; escaping prison; using halluciongenic lipstick to fool lots of people; steal a Van Gogh painting; confront a queen; blackmail a black market dealer; graffiti a cliff; call the Doctor 'sweetie' every time she sees him; impersonate Cleopatra; say 'spoilers' a lot every time she is with the Doctor, usually about her diary; fight bucketloads of alien evil; get trapped in the TARDIS while it explodes; shoot Daleks; try to keep the Doctor alive, which becomes a pretty full time job; attend a wedding; help the Doctor be remembered into existence; write in her diary, which she does after most adventures with the Doctor; give the Doctor some ambiguous answers; and run away. That's just in The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang . Here's some more.

Get put back in prison; get let out to track an Angel but kept under Church guard; say she is a Doctor; give the Doctor some important advice and a book; give Amy some ambiguous answers; chase the Doctor around, this happens a lot, in her life; realise that everyone is in terrible danger; run away from a Angel army; walk through a forest of tree-borgs; save Amy's life; nearly get sucked into a Time Crack; deliver a prophetic line; and return to prison under Church guard. That was The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone . Now for the finale.

Turn up in a mysterious library wearing a weird spacesuit; be menaced by Vashta Nerada;

I cant't remember the rest now, but I will add to the list of River's adventures a) when I remember the rest of what she did in the library, and b) when she has more adventures to talk about.

One last thing to say: River is awesome!!!!! I hope we get to see heaps more of her in series 6, and I hope we see lots more of her after that. I can't decide between her and Donna which is the best companion, so maybe I could have some other opinions to help me choose...

Abigail Pettigrew (A Christmas Carol)

Abigail Pettigrew was fatally ill when she was taken by Mr Elliot Sardick and cryogenically frozen as security for a large loan given to her family. She was kept frozen for many years, until a sky shark attacked Elliot's son Kazran. The shark ate half of the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver, and weakened severely. Kazran suggested an ice box as a way to transport it into the fog bank. The box used belonged to Abigail. She was able to calm the shark by singing, when it was trying to kill the Doctor and Kazran. She went with them in the TARDIS to release the shark. When she was returned to her icy confinement, before she went completely under, Kazran promised that he and the Doctor would return every Christmas Eve. They shared many wonderful adventures together, and as Kazran grew older, he and Abigail fell in love. But, Abigail harboured a devastating secret. And all the time the counter on her box ticked down. One Christmas Eve, Abigail was forced to tell Kazran her secret. So, after the put her back in her box that night, Kazran told the Doctor not to come back next year. The counter had ticked down to one. And so Abigail stayed in her box. Kazran was an old man when he opened that box for the last time. He only opened it because her voice was the one way he could save a crashing spaceship. And so, on her last day of life, Abigail Pettigrew saved the lives of four thousand people. The last we saw of Abigail, she was flying though the sky with her beloved Kazran in a carriage drawn by a shark. The very same shark which she saved Kazran from when he was a boy.

Important Notifications

Actually, I think I'm just going to do random alien/enemy/companion/doctor profiles, and not bother with alphabetical order. Stuff will get done though, and I will try to group alien/enemy/companion/doctor profiles together by year of first broadcast. Or something. They will be grouped!!

Hopefully this blog will eventually become a proper collection of opinions on DW related stuff. I will need reader opinions though. So please feel free to comment (hopefully constructively) on all posts.
